DR Baureihe 80

The Baureihe 80 is one of the switcher locomotives owned by the German National Railway (Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft or DRG). This model was mainly used at train stations, for the shunting of other locomotives and carriages.

Between the years 1927 and 1928, a total of 39 Baureihe 80 locomotives were built. With the new developments of the Baureihe 80, which were relatively simple and economical, the German National Railway wanted to lower the costs of shunting. So, the Baureihe 80 was mainly used for shunting locomotives and carriages on the larger German train stations. This Lego locomotive was built like the DR 80 013 owned by the German Steam Locomotive Museum (Deutsches Dampflokomotiv-Museums) in Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg.
